Camp Fatima, 32 Fatima Rd, Gilmanton I.W., New Hampshire

Directions to Camp

The last leg of any trip to Camp Fatima EC Week is a pine-tree lined quarter mile of hard-packed sand and New Hampshire clay, affectionately known as Camp Road. It might as well be a draw bridge to a land of magic for the thousands of "exceptional citizens" who have traveled it from near and far on the third week of August over the 62 summers since the camp's inception.

The physical setting greets visitors like an idealized version of what a New England summer camp is supposed to look like. Camp Road brings you to a vast carpet of green, with a "Main Street" like series of clap boarded community buildings. Peppered about the grounds are clusters of whitewashed cabins and just beyond, lies the crystal blue of Lake Suncook. All of this beauty guarded on the perimeter by majestic 60 foot evergreens.

Begun in 1954 to provide children with disabilities an overnight summer camp experience, EC Week has taken this simple premise to a place beyond anything its' founders could have ever imagined. It is summer camp with a personal touch, where the campers needs are priority one and every effort is made to make the experience unique and unforgettable.

The route for the inaugural Friends of Fatima 5k provides participants with a visual tour of almost the entire facility. Beginning by the lake, walkers and runners will move toward the camp center and be directed down Camp Road. A right on Old Stage Road to a monitored "turnaround" will have participants re-tracing the route back to Fatima. Once entering they will run/walk a single lap around the track and finish at the Cardinal Cushing Center.

Music, refreshments and camaraderie will follow on the main field.

On September 21st we invite you to enjoy this very special place. Help us continue the mission.

Run or walk, but most importantly, PLEASE DONATE, to the annual Friends of Fatima 5k Road Race.

A race to benefit E.C. Week

Exceptional Citizen's Week at Camp Fatima is an overnight camp for children and adults with intellectual or physical disabilities provided at no cost to campers and their families; 100% funded by annual fundraisers, donations and in-kind contributions; staffed entirely by volunteers.

Each camper receives one-to-one care and experiences a week of horseback riding, swimming, boating, arts and crafts, and many more special events that they otherwise may not be able to enjoy. The 300+ dedicated volunteers and many generous donors allow EC Week to offer this great week to over 170 campers at no cost to campers' families and caregivers. The camp is wheelchair accessible and provides an on-site healthcare team available 24/7. Visit EC Week's website at EC Week at Camp Fatima
